During
the 12 months of 2020, Peru exported 11,937,890 kilos of fresh garlic for a FOB
value of US $ 25,526,803. These figures reveal a slight drop in volume, but a
significant increase in value compared to the 12,089,390 kilos exported the
previous year for US $ 17,589,665.
According to the Agrodata Peru portal, the main destination of these shipments last year was Mexico, where placements for US $ 17,208,867 were achieved (67% of the total dispatched). Next came Ecuador with US $ 4,427,687, the United States with US $ 1,982,468, Australia with US $ 751,211, Brazil with US $ 586,673, Colombia with US $ 191,465 and others with smaller amounts that together totaled US $ 378,432.
Among the
main exporting companies in the sector were Agroexportadora Sol de Olmos SAC
with sales of US $ 4,352,000, Agroindustrial E&C SAC with US $ 3,230,000,
S&M Foods SAC with US $ 2,356,000, Comercial Namuche EIRL with US $ 2,164
.000, Coproimpex SAC with US $ 1,613,000 and Corporación Agrícola Perunor SAC
with US $ 1,438,000.
